Picture Polish - Freya's Cats // Snowflake Nail Art

Hello nail polish lovers :) How are you? Today is the first day of December and I can't believe it - it totally got me by surprise this year! I feel like I've been super busy with a lot of stuff so I didn't even realize winter was sneaking up on all of us. Though after eating a lot of chocolate Santa's and homemade Christmas cookies I'm handling it way better! ;)

Today I'm showing you a sparkly gem from the lovely nail polish brand Picture Polish, and the name of it is Freya's Cats :) This is also a collaboration shade, and it was made together with Sasha aka Nihrida. It's a striking blue with scattered holographic shimmer and micro-flakes. The base is quite jellylike but it still gives great coverage :) I opted for 2 coats and it was enough for me. The scattered holo shimmer is incredibly beautiful and when you add those micro-flakes to the mixture, two things happen - it makes the polish seem crazy deep, yet keeping the vibrancy of the blue base, and it makes it really pop with all those sparkles. After I applied my top coat I noticed that at times it actually looked three-dimensional :) This was when I became inspired to do nail art. Studying this beautiful nail polish, I found myself imagining a blissful winter's day, in the afternoon when the darkening sky draws on the last sunshine of the day, and then very slowly snow starts falling. Delicately, glistening, the snowflakes fill the sky, and you know winter's here. Pure poetry, huh? :D Okay, cheesyness aside - I chose to do some wicked snowflake nail art! The design is of course hand painted by me :) Scroll down to check out the photos and read the final words ;)

This polish was my personal choice among the ones Picture Polish sent me, and thereby the polish to which I had the greatest expectations. Gawd, it is FLAWLESS. It hasn't let me down in any way, so as much as I wan't to give constructive criticism, there's absolutely nothing to say. Buy this if you can! :)

As I mentioned in my previous post, Picture Polish is an Australian independently owned boutique nail polish brand, created by two fantastic girls. The lacquers are 3-free and cruelty free. Try them if you're into chic and quirky nail polish. They are the best :)

Aaaaand, I hope you liked my nail art! I want to do more, but it's so time consuming as I'm a beginner and it takes me forever to finish. Practice makes perfect though, right?

Picture Polish - Aphrodisiac

Hi guys! Sorry for being absent lately! :) Yes, one of the perks of this magical winter season finally hit me - I've had the flu with a fever and what not ;) I'm well now, and that means I've got things, lots of things, to catch up on :) So let's get started! ;)

The turn has come to Aphrodisiac by Picture Polish. This is a vampy dark purple shimmer. It just looks really slick and reminds me of pure silk. There is definitely this something about it that screams luxury, and...sexiness? The name certainly fits the polish :) Formula wise it's as smooth as it looks. Sure you can get away with only 1 coat, but I usually go for 2 coats with any polish no matter what. The final verdict and more info after the photos ;)

First when I saw this polish I noted how deliciously vampy it looked. I was afraid though that it would seem too black on the nail, not allowing the purple shimmer to shine through. Whether it's under outdoor or indoor lighting, the glowing properties really show, and you're almost spellbound. When light doesn't ignite the fire that does indeed lie within this polish, it looks super stylish and high fashion.

As I mentioned in my previous post, Picture Polish is an Australian independently owned boutique nail polish brand, created by two fantastic girls. The lacquers are 3-free and cruelty free. Try them if you're into chic and quirky nail polish. They are the best :)

Picture Polish - O'Hara // Candy Cane Nails

Happy Holidays! :) I'm currently staying with my family and we celebrated Christmas yesterday, December 24, since that's the tradition in my country. As you might have guessed, I'm going to show you what I wore on Christmas Eve :)

This is O'Hara from Picture Polish - a hot red crelly with scattered holographic flecks. Application was really easy and all the shimmery particles spread beautifully onto my nails! 2 coats was enough for me to obtain full coverage :) O'Hara is like Freya's Cats really deep and sparkly, and under bright lights or sunlight it's almost three-dimensional! In the occasion of it being Christmas, I did some sweet nail art inspired by those pepperminty candy canes hanging on our Christmas tree :) Because I was already wearing this stunning red polish, all I needed was some striping tape and a white nail polish! I had a hard time trying not to bite my nails, they just looked so tasty! ;) Photos and final words below.

This is one of those nail polishes you have to own, because it will become your new go-to red lacquer. O'Hara is like 'the classic red', but reinvented. That right there just proves how amazingly gifted these girls are, Jules and Megs, who created Picture Polish. O'Hara was the last one of the 4 colors I received, and I'm so glad to have been given the opportunity to do these blog reviews for them. I hope we can do something like this again in the future :)

Dior / Diorific - Winter #128

Hi guys! Fancy more icy and snowy wonderfulness? :) Today you'll see the beautiful Dior nail polish Winter #128 from the Diorific Golden Winter Holiday 2013 Collection. It's a mix of sparkly pink, gold and silver flecks in a white pearlescent sheer base. It really seems to capture the glistening snow-like winter theme fittingly ;)

In the first two photos I'm wearing 2 coats of it on its own - it's pretty see through, but I actually like it! The sweetness and innocence to it is really cute :) The last three photos show how 2 coats of Winter looks layered over 2 coats of OPI My vampire is buff. My vampire is buff is a very light nude creme, and the reason I chose it for the layering was that this combination of colors bears a very close resemblance to what Winter literally looks like in the bottle :)

Winter is a pretty adorable and elegant lacquer, and I can't wait to try and layer it over other colors :) By the way, I also have the gorgeous Minuit #995 from the same collection - and that, ladies and gents, will be up any day soon :)

See you around lovely people<3

Dior / Diorific - Minuit #995

Hi everyone! I'm back today with Dior's stunning nail polish Minuit #995 :) It was released alongside Winter #128 which I reviewed last week, in the Dior Diorific Golden Winter Holiday Collection. Minuit is a deep burgundy shimmer - the base is maroon-red with purple undertones, and it's full of gold and red glimmering flecks. The gold pieces really add dimension to this dark polish, contrasting the purplish hues, and I think that's what makes it so eye-catching. I'd say it has a jelly formula, as with 2 coats it was still a bit see-through, so for once I actually went with 3 coats! :) As I wore my ol' trusty base coat, there was no staining at all, no problemo. Maybe you could skip wearing top coat because of the super glossy finish, but I personally always wear both base and top coat! :) Final verdict below the photos :)

Pretty gorgeous if you ask me! It was the first from this collection to be sold out everywhere in my town, and I can't say I'm surprised :) This is without a doubt a nail polish I can use all year round, when I want to vamp it up or just be ultra glamorous for a night. Or day. It really wouldn't matter to me, because it's so beautiful!

I'm sorry about the image quality, I tried to edit some of the discoloration before blurring out the edges to make the photos look more natural! At the moment I'm trying to gather some info on how to get a great indoor photo/light setup. I know other bloggers struggle with this, so maybe I should ask them what they've found out so far. Someone on Instagram mentioned something called an ott light. Ugh, it sucks sitting around all day waiting for the sun, and when it's finally up it's so vague and dull because it's winter. First world problems! :D

Anyway I hope you're all doing well! Always feel free to drop a comment here or write to me on Instagram @nailescapades :)

Chanel - Rouge Rubis #677

Hi everyone :) I hope you all had a nice weekend, possibly filled with lots of nail artistry! Today I have another swatch for you, and I just had to put it on the blog before anything else, because it's so freaking amazing! I'm talking about Chanel's recent nail polish shade for the Holiday/Winter 2013 Collection Nuit Infinie de Chanel - Rouge Rubis #677. It's a crelly, a true red, which means it doesn't lean pink nor orange, just red! It may be described as being bright, but I'd rather say that it's super saturated! I made a comparison to other red cremes/crellies from Chanel that I own, and there you'll se exactly how 'true' the redness of Rouge Rubis indeed is. First I can tell you that the consistency was unbelievably great. It was so smooth and shiny from the first layer to the last - I used 2 coats and the top coat this time was Chanel's own Laque Brillance Extrême. Final judgement below the photos :)

When you're working with a Chanel polish you know you get the crème de la crème of lacquers. In the luxury high-end lacquer category this is absolutely my favorite brand. I love everything about Chanel nail polishes - the innovative shades, new ones, old ones, the formula, the bottle, and so on! Then again I've only tried 3 luxury brands; Chanel being the first, then Dior and YSL. I'm really dying to try Tom Ford, Marc Jacobs and Guerlain! Have anyone of you tried those brands, and what do you think about them? Comment below or on Instagram @nailescapades :)

See you soon, guys!

Essie - Ignite The Night

Hello everyone! I'm a busy lady, but hey, I'm still here! I was given this wonderful nail polish for Christmas, and it's absolutely stunning - Ignite The Night by Essie. This beauty is fully packed with grayish silver glitter, and enriched with a smaller amount of brass glitter. It came out together with 5 other lacquers in 2013 in the Encrusted Treasures Collection. Ignite The Night gives complete coverage, and I just love wearing it on its own, it's so sparklyyy! You can surely just use it for an accent nail too :) On these photos I'm wearing 3 regular coats, with 1 layer of my top coat from Poshé - a very nice and thick top coat, which I at the moment prefer over Seche Vite.

All in all a sparkly glitterbomb! If you liked Beyond Cozy, also from Essie - released in the Winter Collection 2012, you're going to love this one. The formula is a bit improved, at least I think so, and that was the only small thing that bugged me with Beyond Cozy :) They both dry very gritty without top coat, and I love that! I don't know why, I just love to rub my nails when they're like that, because they're usually so smooth! Anyway haha, this was my favorite from the entire Encrusted Treasures Collection, and I definitely recommend it :)

See you guys!<3

Dior - Porcelaine #204

Hi guys! Congratulations to those on Instagram who guessed the name of the nail polish I was wearing - 1000 points to you each as promised! :D It's the gorrrgeous Porcelaine #204 from the Dior Trianon Spring 2014 Collection. I also got the Perlé effect top coat, which I'll be showing you soon enough too. Porcelaine is a beautiful light pastel blue, it's a creme, but as it's quite thin and at 2 coats semitransparent, I dare to call it crelly-like! :) So I used 3 coats this time, even though I don't like using more than 2 coats of polish, especially with cremes, because it usually allows for bubbling to occur. To me application was really okay, there was minimal streaking and almost no patching. My top coat by Poshé evened everything out very neatly. Read on below the photos :)

This is just the perfect Spring color for 2014, I love it so much! Well I love everything blue as always! :) I'm so happy with this polish, and I'm glad I spent that extra money on something I hoped to love - and I really do! The only other light blue color I own is Coco Blue by Chanel, and it's a tad darker than this one, and it has some fine shimmer to it :) Porcelaine is completely shimmer free, it's so simple and clean - it's me! ^_^

Do you have some suggestions for other light blue creme polishes? I'm so hooked now haha!

Anyway, I hope y'all had a great weekend! I almost slept through mine x)

Lots of love<3

Dior - Perlé #187

Hello my people! I'm back with another stunner from Dior - also from the Dior Trianon Spring 2014 Collection! This is Perlé #187, a gorrrrrrrrgeous shimmery "special effect" top coat. I see pink, magenta and violet sparks in a dusty, rosey/mauve-ish pearlescent base. This will make your nubbins look like delicate pearls ^_^

On my right hand I'm wearing 3 coats of Perlé, and on my left hand 3 coats of Porcelaine with 1 generous coat of Perlé on top. I had to opt for a third coat of Porcelaine, because Perlé wouldn't be able to cover the minor patches from 2 coats. That gives you an idea of how transparent Perlé is - it is 100% a top coat, or if you're a rebel like me... you can indeed wear it on its own. Hello - crime rider here! :D Being a top coat, it doesn't call for an additional layer of regular top coat - okay you'd guess that was rather obvious! But it dries to a matte finish, so if you want your nails to be all shiny and stuff, you will have to add yet another layer. I'd recommend a very thin top coat, as it now will be a very chunky manicure you've got going on. I chose to let Perlé "shine" on its own, and of course on top of Porcelaine, so that's what you'll see today.

Before we move on the photos, I want to inform that the drying time of Perlé is really long. It remains rather mushy for a while, depending on how many coats of polish you have underneath it of course, so be careful not to dent it and smudge it for at least 30 minutes or so. It's a bit annoying, but the effect is just completely worth it! So I'm happy! :) Okay, photos~

I feel like Dior is killing it with their effect polishes! I love Rock Coat, Nail Glow and now this! I really wish Chanel would do this again soon - I recently purchased Azur #465 which is also an effect polish, and it was released also in the Spring, in the Aurora Blues Spring 2008 Collection. There also was the Tokyo Happening Collection in 2009 with the 4 micro glitter polishes Blue Wish #387, Lune D’Argent #397, Rose Libellule #407 and Galactic Touch #417. Then came Illusion D'Or #450 in 2010... Did I miss some between 2010 and now? I know there's been lots of others before 2008, I just had to start somewhere that isn't so long ago that only Chanel-addicts would know. But feel free to remind me :) Anyway, I miss and I crave some new crazy limited edition polishes from Chanel <3

I know this sounds painfully ridiculous, but I've always wanted to have my own valediction, or closing - you know what I mean? And now that I have a blog, it would be so awesome to just try and make one :) A lot of people, especially on youtube, say "stay awesome" at the end of their videos, so I guess it's okay to use something that is rather obvious or just pretty common! I've been stealing Ron Burgundy's "stay classy" for some time, but I think I know now what I'd like to say :) Stay polished! Right? Get it? Because polished, wearing nail polish, you're polished, yes? No? I don't care! >:D I haven't noticed any other nail girls or beauty girls using it, but that doesn't really matter either. I feel like it fits me mkay? Maybe in a week or so I'll hate it haha... Let's see :) But that's all for now girls and gents!

Stay polished! <3
(It totally works, right?)

F.U.N Lacquer - Spring 2014 Collection

Hi everyone! Today I'm introducing an indie brand new to the blog, and it's called F.U.N Lacquer :) I'm so lucky to have received a bunch of nail polishes to review, and for starters I'll show you the entire trio of the Spring 2014 Collection. The trio consists of Dazzling Blue (holo), Pink Tulips on the Green (thermal) & With SPRINGkles on Top (glitter).

Dazzling Blue is a sapphire blue holographic polish with gold shimmer. I'm wearing 2 coats here, the formula was nice and opaque! And just... wow! Right? I'm blown away by the beauty! The gold shimmer was subtle, but in the sun it became more visible :)

Pink Tulips on the Green is a thermal polish, that changes from gold green when cold - into a pinkish white with purple shimmer when warm. The texture is different from regular nail polish, as it contains those unique properties that create the thermal color changing effect :) I'll be showing you mostly how it looks in cold Scandinavian weather.

FYI: This is my first time trying a thermal polish, and I kind of had a hard time capturing the effect and colors in my photos, but I hope you get the idea :) The transition you see here is actually from hot (light) to cold (dark)! :) I'm so loving this!

With SPRINGkles on Top is a a mix of rainbow colored glitter and the holographic pigment spectraflair. It can be worn as a top coat on top of other nail polish colors or on it's own. I really like it on it's own, and in the first photo I'm wearing only 1 coat on top of my base coat! Can you believe how cute that looks!? That's how I prefer it :) For good measure though, I tested it out with 2 coats, and for me that was enough for full coverage! Amazing :)

Phew! That was alot of photos huh? I like it when photos speak for themselves :) If I had to say a few words though, I'd say that I really like this collection! :) Dazzling Blue is a definite hit, and it was such a great experience to try my first thermal! With SPRINGkles on Top really grew on me, and it does indeed resemble Happy Birthday by Deborah Lippmann, which I reviewed right here btw, but this one is way more packed with glitter, party and F.U.N! ;)

F.U.N Lacquer - Fabulously Unique Nail Lacquer is owned by Yuin Ying, who makes these nail polishes by hand, with love, in Singapore. All F.U.N Lacquer products are 5-free, and yes! They're available with worldwide shipping from Singapore!

Picture Polish - Darcy

Hello everyone :) Today I found the true meaning of love! I'm so lucky - I get to review this new shade called Darcy from Picture Polish! It will be released along with to other shades; Lizzie and Bridget. Any bells ringing, girls? Please tell me you know where the names are from ;) Pride & Prejudice and Bridget Jones's Diary. After meeting this Mr. Darcy, I totally get why Lizzie and Bridget were so hung up on each of their Mr. Darcy's ;)

Darcy is an opaque black with scattered holographic flecks. I'm wearing 2 thin coats, and the coverage is just perfect. The formula is so amazing, and it makes for such an easy application! The result is unbelievably shiny and it's completely smooth to the touch - even without top coat - because the holo isn't regular glitter. Check out the photos! :)

It was truly love at first sight, and this is my favorite black now! These "scatter-holo" lacquers are my favorite from the Picture Polish range, I just think they're so unique and modern! But to be honest, I feel like anything these girls touch just turns out to be original and simply beautiful! I have previously reviewed Freya's Cats and O'Hara, which both have the perfect scatter-holo formula.

Anyway, the thing that's happening right now is that Picture Polish is re-releasing some popular shades from the discontinued brand Ozotic, under the Picture Polish label! YAY right?! I'm so excited! The first three are Lizzie (606), Bridget (621) and Darcy (623), and they'll be available for purchase on the Picture Polish web store from Monday 31st March 2014. I sooo have to get my hands on Lizzie and Bridget too :) I bet they're just as magnificent as Darcy.

Picture Polish - Douceur

Hi everyone! On the blog today, we have a collaboration shade from Picture Polish called Douceur. Douceur was created in 2013 with Ophelie also known as Tartofraises. She's a French blogger, YouTuber and published author - she's amazing! I've been a subscriber to her channel for years now, and I'm so fascinated by her extremely advanced one-stroke techniques! She also does beginner's nail art tutorials :)

The inspiration for this beautiful nail polish came from Ophelie's love of all things sweet and jelly. Douceur means sweetness in French! It's a muted light pink jelly with 2 sizes of hex glitter in magenta and mulberry. It's enriched with the signature Picture Polish scatter-holo, and dries slightly textured on the nail. When you apply top coat, it'll even out the surface and be super to smooth to the touch. For this mani I used 2 coats of polish, and it covered my nails completely! I truly adore this cute, sweet and really delicious-looking thing! To me it kind of resembles yummy ice cream ;) Buying info below the photos :)

Picture Polish - Hope

Hi friends! Today I'm presenting to you Hope by Picture Polish. This nail polish was created in collaboration with Bé over at vernisenfolie.com :) So far, this is my favorite shade from the Picture Polish range! When I put it on for the first time, I was just overwhelmed with awe.

Hope is a dark teal scatter-holo jelly with blue hex glitter. Yet again the Aussie girls have outdone themselves with the formula - it's so easy to work with and incredibly fast drying! I used 2 coats here, and everything was even and shiny! I actually forgot to put on top coat - what!? I know right? - but the finish looked so glossy, and it tricked my unconsciousness haha! I'm 100% sure it was because I was focusing all of my attention on the beautiful holographic sparkles, in what seems like a dark blue-green fantasy. Where to buy? Check it out below the photos :)

This is...I'm speechless! I recommend having this one in mind if you're thinking about trying out Picture Polish lacquers. I also highly recommend checking out Bé at vernisenfolie.com - her Instagram is @vernisenfolie and she is amazing! :) Also also - remember the Cosmos competition I entered back in June? It was hosted by her! <3 Check it out right here!

I can't tell you enough how much I love this brand! Yes, some of the products I have been sent in exchange for my honest review - with emphasis on honest. I own 16 Picture Polish shades, and 8 have been sponsored, and 8 have I bought with my own money. Frankly I would only purchase 8 shades from a brand that I absolutely love! :)

F.U.N Lacquer - 4 Seasons Collection // Part 1

Hi everyone! :) Today I'm back with more gorgeousness from the Singaporean indie brand F.U.N Lacquer - the 4 Seasons Collection! It consists of 4 thermal nail polishes assigned to each season of the year, and wow guys, you really have to check them out! :) I split the collection into 2 parts, so in this post I'll be reviewing Purple Crocus & Fall to Winter. The reason why, is that they're thermals. Thermals have so many different looks, and require many photos to show them properly. At least that's what I think, and still, this post contains 14 photos :) So, I created a jump break - a "read more" button! Or click the blog title ;)

Purple Crocus (Spring) is a purple thermal polish with gorgeous pink shimmer. It turns from this cute pastel lavenderish color when warm, to a bright purple with the prettiest shimmer when cold. This is my absolute favorite of the collection - the color shift is so strong, and the mid-tones are STUNNING as well! The formula was super easy to work with, it only needs 2 layers to reach opacity :) I actually think this is my favorite of all the F.U.N Lacquers I've tried so far! Just look at the photos guys :)

Fall to Winter (Winter) is a blue thermal polish with color changing shimmer - it has a very special duochrome satin finish. The base color changes from a super unique mauvy brown when warm, to an intense dark blue when cold. What I discovered was, that the shimmer shifts from a pinkish purple to a light blue azur color. Again the formula was great, and 2 coats did the job! Can I just say, that this one surprised me so much. I didn't think I'd really love it, but now I completely do! It's fabulously unique ;)

The second part of the 4 Seasons Collection will be up next week! :)

Picture Polish - Sky // Cloud Drawings Nail Art

Hi everyone! How are you doing? :) Today I'm showing you this beautiful nail polish by the ever so fantastic and talented Aussie chicks! I also decided to do some appropriate nail art featuring cute cloud drawings! :) Now a couple of you asked for a tutorial, and I really want to do one - but I don't have any footage from the making of it haha! Next time I do nail art I will remember to take photos in between steps. It makes me so happy when you comment on my photos and ask me things - I always do my best to reply to everyone!<3

Sky is a pastel blue creme, and it's super elegant and summery :) I only needed 2 coats for complete coverage - that's amazing for such a light shade! Formula wise it was simply a breeze to work with, there was no signs of patching at all. I previously reviewed Porcelaine by Dior, also a pastel blue creme, and comparing Sky to Porcelaine, well... Sorry Dior, but Sky is a winner! There's a slight difference in color between the two, very visible to my eye, but I'm sure most people wouldn't even notice ;) So the thing that really sets them apart is the formula :)

I would do a side by side comparison between Sky and Porcelaine, but I'm awaiting Blu by Zoya in the mail, so I'm saving it for then. Be sure to look out for it! And yep you guessed it, I'm addicted to blue :)

F.U.N Lacquer - 4 Seasons Collection // Part 2

Hi everyone! :) Yes! Today I'm back again with even. more. fabulousness. from the Singapore based indie brand F.U.N Lacquer! Friday I blogged about two amazingly beautiful nail polishes from the 4 Seasons Collection - Purple Crocus & Fall to Winter! The collection consists of 4 thermal nail polishes assigned to each season of the year, and I split the collection into 2 parts, so in this post I'll be reviewing the last two polishes; Sandcastle & Do You Be-Leaf in Magic.

Sandcastle (Summer) is an orange thermal polish with wonderful gold shimmer. It turns from a light sandy orange color when warm, to a really bright and intense orange, with incredible sparkles when cold. This is my second favorite of the collection, with number 1 being Purple Crocus - because again, I love when the color shift is so strong, and all the billion hues in between cold and warm are fantastic as well! The formula was surprisingly easy to work with - compared to cremes of the same color - and it only needs 2 coats :)

Am I the only one who thinks the cold version of it looks like slush-ice? :) I want to drink it, and I bet it would taste like... orange :D (See what I did there?)

Do You Be-Leaf in Magic (Fall) is a green thermal polish with slight duochrome properties.

First, can I just say how much I love this name!? It speaks to me and you might as well know now, that I'm a complete sucker for puns, and when done right, I crack up and can't stop laughing :D Anyway!

The base color changes from a very special peridot-like olive gold hue when warm, into a lovely medium-dark green when cold. In the cold state, I did indeed see the duochrome shift - at some angles the gold shimmer was super prominent and at other angles, the surface turned nearly forest green with a teal sheen! So beautiful! Again again, the formula was great and 2 coats was sufficient! :)

(I wasn't able to get a solo-shot of the duochrome - I'm so sorry about that! But believe me, it's there! Yet if you look closely, just above the reflective lights in the 'cold picture', you can actually see a hint of the teal sheen ^_^)

This was the last part of the 4 Seasons Collection, and if you missed Part 1 go on and check it out dude! :)

F.U.N Lacquer - Birthday Collection // Galaxy Duo

Hi everyone! :) Today I'll be showing you yet another brand spanking new release from the Singapore based indie brand F.U.N Lacquer! I have previously blogged about the Spring 2014 Collection and the incredible thermal 4 Seasons Collection - Part 1 & Part 2! Go check them out if you missed them :)

This release is called the Birthday Collection - created for the special occasion of the F.U.N Lacquer creator Yuin Ying's birthday :) It consists of 6 nail polishes, 3 duos to be exact - there are 3 different beautiful lacquers each in a glitter version and a glitter-holo version - all of them suspended in a clear base. The main glitter used in all of the polishes is already holographic, but the added holo is actually the amazing spectraflair pigment, and it just adds even more party to the bottle! So guys, get ready for a ravishing celebration of glitter-mazing proportions ;)

Galaxy is a medium-dark purple holographic glitter polish, suspended in a clear base. The glitter really sparkles like stars in the galaxy! This type of glitter used here is apparently of higher quality than standard glitter, so it's supposed to be much more shimmery than usual! I definitely think there's some crazy twinkle going on :) I made do with 3 coats, formula was excellent and the drying time is super fast!

Galaxy (H) is almost completely identical to Galaxy - the difference only being the added holo spectraflair pigment. Do you see the incredible difference? The now more eye-catching prismatic effect is so fricking cool! I love how a simple addition of something can create such a unique spin on an already beautiful thing :) The extreme light reflecting properties of the spectraflair makes the lacquer seem more light than the original, and the base more opaque. Formula, application and drying time was completely the same as Galaxy - 3 coats, excellent and super fast! :)

NOTE: I'm in awe. I didn't realize until now that these polishes are actually "toppers" and meant for layering on top of other colors! So while I'm feeling quite embarrassed, I just have to admit that I overlooked that fact, BUT how amazing is it, that that could even happen? These lacquers are so potent that I just thought of them as regular glitter polishes! You know what - hells yeah, I'm going to wear them all on their own :D

Anyway! This was the first of out of three glitter/holo duos from the Birthday Collection! The rest will be up in a few days :) Until the 25th of April, use the code BIRTHDAY2014 to get 24% off on all items on the F.U.N Lacquer website! :)

F.U.N Lacquer - Birthday Collection // Honey Bear Duo

Hi everyone! :) As promised I'm back with more, and it's from the newest release from the Singaporean indie brand F.U.N Lacquer! This time it's the Honey Bear Duo from the Birthday Collection :) Last week I blogged about the Galaxy Duo from the same release, and in the top of the post I told you a few words about the collection :)

Honey Bear is a holographic gold glitter polish with gold flakies and shimmer, all in a clear base. The type of glitter used in the Galaxy Duo and 24 Karat Diamond is of higher quality than the standard glitter, which is used for Honey Bear - and I actually see the difference :) For this polish you may want to go with 3-4 coats or use it as a topper, since that was the original thought haha! :) But I made 3 coats work ;D Formula again was top notch and the drying time really fast!

I'm a very sad Malene when I wear warm golden colors in general, because they clash so much with my skin tone. Like this if you cry everytime... Haha. LUCKILY the double-holo version is much more fitting for my complexion :) Read on to know why!<3

Honey Bear (H) is the extra holographic version of the original Honey Bear - just with (cleverly) added spectraflair pigment. My Oh MY, I love that extra holo effect! It even brightens up the lacquer and gives it a more cool-toned appearance - which means my skin tone doesn't distract as much as before, from the beauty of this nail polish :) I'm thinking this one is a perfect candidate for when you're picking out a gold glitter for an accent nail! It's so unique and pretty :) 2-3 coats was sufficient for me and again, the drying time is fast!

This was the second of out of three glitter/holo duos from the Birthday Collection! If you missed the first - go check out the Galaxy Duo, right now! :) It's incredible!
